The Bureau of Labor Statistics publishes Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics for licensed practical and licensed vocational nurses, broken down nationally, by state, and by metropolitan area, with percentiles rather than a single average. It is free, it is updated annually, and it is the dataset most other sites are repackaging. Look at the 25th and 75th percentiles for your metro, not the national mean.
Skilled nursing, home health, correctional health, physician offices, hospitals and schools pay differently for the same licence, and they differ just as much in workload, autonomy and hours. A higher rate in a setting with punishing ratios is not obviously the better job, and the comparison is worth making deliberately rather than by rate alone.
